Non-Medical Prescribing

The NMP programme at the NPC promotes and supports the continued development of non-medical prescribing through effective policy implementation, advice and a targeted support programme. The programme aims to increase the recognition and understanding of NMP throughout the NHS and will work with key audiences to support effective NMP implementation, share active engagement and promote activity.

A quick guide for commissioners

We have developed a "Quick guide" to non-medical prescribing for managers and commissioners, with the aim of providing a national resource that supports organisations to effectively embed non-medical prescribing (NMP) into service redesign. Following the rapid succession of changes in legislation, the aim is to increase understanding of the changes to NMP regulations that have extended the scope and range of NMP.
