There are a number of sources which facilitate local organisations in reviewing their prescribing. The analysis of primary care prescribing in England was improved by the introduction of Prescribing Analysis and CosT (PACT) data in 1991 by the Prescription Pricing Division of the Business Services Authority (PPDBSA). PACT data (ePACT.net) is an important starting point for understanding prescribing trends and activity.
In addition, the Prescribing Support Unit (PSU ) which is part of the Information Centre for Health and Social Care, collects, analyses and publishes a wide range of information about prescribing.
The NPC in conjunction with the PSU unit of the Information Centre host workshops on topics relating to prescribing measures. |
