Introduction
This e-learning resource considers the legal and ethical aspects of local decision-making about the funding of medicines and treatments. As such, it will be highly relevant to all members of NHS local decision-making (LDM) groups, PCT commissioners and PCT Boards. In addition, it will be of relevance generally to other NHS groups and individuals; for example, clinicians, provider trusts, clinical networks and specialised commissioning groups.
Using this resource
This resource consists of two core voice over PowerPoint presentations. One discusses the general legal and ethical aspects of local decision making, the other focuses on judicial review. As well as being able to listen to the presentations, a full transcript is available for downloading. To reinforce learning from these presentations, a case study, FAQs, quizzes and exercises have also been developed.
All parts of the e-learning are accessed from the toolbar above. There is also a tool bar which provides hyperlinks to the core resources that provide context for this e-learning resource. It may help to familiarise yourself with these core resources before listening to these presentations.
