MeReC was established in 1990 and produces several
publications: MeReC
Bulletin, MeReC
Extra,
MeReC Monthly and the new ‘blog style’ MeReC Stop Press and Rapid Review . Publications and related resources
are freely available on our website.
MeReC Publications are high quality resources
useful to a wide range of healthcare professionals.
They provide concise, evidence-based information
about medicines and prescribing-related issues,
which can inform prescribing practice, update
professional knowledge and help support healthcare
planning.
MeReC Publications support the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) clinical guidance programme and implementation strategy. They are accompanied by a range of education and implementation resources/tools to facilitate the uptake of key messages contained within the MeReC portfolio. These are available through NPCi .
MeReC publications concentrate mainly on current clinical and therapeutic issues, whilst taking into account ongoing NHS developments. Topics are coordinated across the MeReC publication portfolio and the main NPC evidence-based therapeutic programme, available through NPCi .

NOTE:
Every effort is made to ensure that the information
contained in the NPC website is accurate and up
to date at the time of press. Please be aware that
information about medicines and therapeutics will
change over time, and that information in the materials
listed below may not be current after the initial

The National Institute for
Clinical Excellence (NICE) is associated with
MeReC Publications published by the NPC through
a funding contract. This arrangement provides
NICE with the ability to secure value for money
in the use of NHS funds invested in its work and
enables it to influence topic selection, methodology
and dissemination practice. NICE considers the
work of this organisation to be of value to the
NHS in England and Wales and recommends that it
be used to inform decisions on service organisation
and delivery. This publication represents the
views of the authors and not necessarily those
of the Institute.
