NPC/NPC Plus therapeutics trainers: schematic

NPC trainers can provide bespoke workshops for health professionals through the NPC’s partner organisation, NPC Plus. To find out more about booking an NPC Plus workshop visit the NPC Plus website.

NPC trainers are all health professionals who have satisfied the NPC's rigorous recruitment and selection process. The NPC has an ongoing support, development and quality assurance programme to ensure the
quality and expertise of our trainers. Click here to read the article about the programme which was published in Pharmacy Management in January 2009.

Accredited NPC trainers may work in one or more NPC and/or NPC Plus training roles, as described in the schematic below.

NPC trainers network schematic An accredited NPC trainer who is commissioned by NPC (not NPC Plus) to support a network of NPC Associates. Associates are the link people between the NPC and their local medicines management and prescribing team, and other professional staff. An accredited NPC trainer who is commissioned by NPC (not NPC Plus) to lead workshops for local healthcare professionals in Wales or Northern Ireland, to update them on therapeutic topics (according to arrangements between NPC and national assembly health departments) A registered health professional who has satisfied the requirements of the NPC recruitment and selection process and complies with the requirements of the NPC therapeutics trainers’ support, development and quality assurance programme. Accredited NPC trainers may work in one or more NPC and/or NPC Plus training roles. It is important to differentiate between a person’s status as an accredited NPC trainer and the work they undertake. An accredited NPC trainer who is engaged to deliver NPC Plus therapeutic workshops..
