Therapeutic workshops

The NPC organised and ran a series of one-day interactive training events covering key clinical treatment issues within six different therapeutic areas during the year (see overleaf).

Each therapeutic area was the subject of a number of repeat workshops (optimal teaching capacity 20-25 delegates per event), held in different locations across England to enable adviser attendance from all health authorities.

Uptake of workshop places was high with pressure for places increasing during the year. There were over 560 adviser attendees at these workshops in 1997/98. A process of formal evaluation of the events was established during the autumn of 1997 and overall results for the year were consistently in the "very good to excellent" range.
