Impact of medicines

The current reforms of the NHS are fundamentally changing the delivery of healthcare and, in particular, prescribing and medicines management. The NHS is striving towards patient centred care; providing equitable access to high quality and cost-effective medicine use; ensuring better use of health care professionals through extensions of responsibilities, such as prescribing, and; providing additional help to patients in the use of their medicines to reduce illness and cut waste.
